Danubius Lofts – living with character and history
The Danubius Lofts project offers unique loft living in a revitalised historic building of the former Danubius factory (also known as Cvernovka or the “Pink Castle”) in the Ružinov district. The original industrial building, with its distinctive Art Nouveau façade and reinforced concrete structure, is one of Bratislava’s most valuable industrial heritage sites and is undergoing a sensitive reconstruction under strict heritage protection supervision.
The architecture of the project respects the original materials and structure of the building while introducing modern design, comfort and practicality into every space. The visual and spatial focal point of the project is the atrium, which, according to architect Peter Topinka, forms the natural heart of the entire complex – a communication hub, gallery and meeting place that connects the historic building with the contemporary extension.
